Hope all are well... This post is in relation to a comment received just a few days ago...
So I clear the air; I have never worked on 2 projects, for 2 employers or had a part time job along with my main - at one time, not even 2 part time jobs at one time - and I never will.
When I start the new project/job; everything else goes on the shelf. It stays on the shelf until that project is ending or already over. Many times I will even start my job hunting after the role has ended officially or in the last 3/4 days.
This just to clarify because of course as a consultant who is flexible and over the years has been pulled into so many areas; it looks to someone who has not worked with me before as though I may be someone who is distracted.
When I start the new project - it gives me that structure. A timetable. I have an immediate and extended family. Rest and offline time are a part of the cycle. I have elderly parents. I have non work related hobbies.
The books I wrote just now were authored after my last job finished - they are a retirement project for me and maybe when I have my holidays/vacation and this sort of thing. Zero impact to my work.
So in summary - please don't be misled by my profile/cv/resumé - as soon as I begin the new project/role; everything else goes onto the shelf.
